All in action! (student vocal expression)

Audio-visual installation and performance. In collaboration with Vladimir Bjelizié and students from the University of Novi Sad (2022)

Within an international artist-in-residence program They: Live - Student Lives revealed through context-based art practices, I worked together with a curator Vladimir Bjelicic and a group of students from the University of Novi Sad, on the participatory project ALL IN ACTION! (Student Vocal Expression).

Guided by the idea of gathering young people, bringing their voices together, and encouraging them to express themselves socially and politically, through a series of conversations, meetings, and workshops, we came up with the idea of realizing an unique spatial - sound installation and participatory performance.

During the work on the project, students (Sara Mladenovic, Tamara Knezevié,Jova-na Dugonjié, Filip Mijié,Jovana Tasin, Marina, Marica and Katarina Simovié), were equally participating in writing texts and composing songs, as well as designing the setting itself. By using an open microphone, i.e. karaoke, collages based on archival photos of student lives from the past, but also a digital generation of a constantly evolving songbook, we created a symbolic space of togetherness, which reflects the positions of the current students of the University of Novi Sad, but also provides the audience with the opportunity to better understand needs, attitudes, and beliefs of young people in the local context.
