BOA BERES - SINGING LIBRARIES
performance / media intervention (2022)

The project Singing Libraries is focused on the intersections between language, text and singing voice, which are investigated from different positions and angles: artistic, technological, theoretical, scientific, spiritual. Singing Libraries are imagined as a durational performance that combines intuitive singing, methods of speed reading and divination practice of bibliomancy, in generating indefinite hybrid narratives.

For the purpose of the project I am creating a semi-fictional identity Boa Beres. Defined as a performer-parasite, she is actively recycling and collaging narratives, while using the power of voice to manage tension between theory and practice. She just wanted to be a pop star.
