BOA BERES - SINGING LIBRARIES
performance / media intervention (2022)

The project Singing Libraries is focused on the intersections between language, text and singing voice, which are investigated from different positions and angles: artistic, technological, theoretical, scientific, spiritual. Singing Libraries are imagined as a durational performance that combines intuitive singing, methods of speed reading and divination practice of bibliomancy, in generating indefinite hybrid narratives.

For the purpose of the project, a semi-fictional identity Boa Beres is created. Promoting ecologically sustainable art and defining herself as a performer-parasite, Beres has been actively recycling and collaging narratives, discovering different methods and choreographies in creation of meaning. She uses the power of voice to manage tension between theory and practice. She just wanted to be a pop star.
